Each year, FASNY provides top-notch training and education programs around the state on a variety of topics. Experts present training to thousands of emergency service providers across the State of New York.
The purpose of the FASNY Training and Education Committee is threefold. First, the committee promotes FASNY as the voice of the volunteer fire service in New York State. The second purpose is to increase the membership of FASNY. The final and most important purpose is to reduce the number of injuries and deaths of fire and EMS responders by providing training in safety and other fire and EMS related topics. This training takes place via workshops and programs covering a wide range of fields: administration, chaplain’s, fire police, haz-mat and emergency response.
The committee provides information to fire and EMS personnel in a timely, convenient and cost-effective manner. FASNY brings state-of-the-art technology to classrooms across the state. The committee strives to place classes near all volunteer firefighters, enabling the maximum amount of people to attend. Each year new workshops and programs are added, with constant critiques and reviews to discover what the volunteer fire and EMS services are looking for in training. FASNY organizes dozens of classes each year with thousands in attendance. FASNY members receive a discount on the cost of the class if they pre-register.
Pre-registration is required for ALL training courses, and registrations must be received no later than five business days prior to the start of class.
