Contests

Winners have been selected for the 2011 Fire Prevention and Life Safety Contests! Stay tuned for more details on the 2012 contests.

Participating in the contests listed below is a method of extending and building on the instruction and events taking place in our state, community and schools in relation to fire prevention and life safety. We sincerely hope your classroom was able to take part.

The following were this year's fire prevention and life safety contests offered to you by FASNY:

 

Poster Contest
Students in Kindergarten through fourth grade are eligible to submit a poster for the poster contest. Winners of the poster contest will see their poster featured in upcoming fire prevention materials, highlighted on the FASNY website and showcased in The Volunteer Firefighter™ magazine.

Essay Contest
Students in grades five through eight are eligible to participate in the essay contest. A panel of judges will choose a first, second and third place winner in each grade level. Winners will be highlighted on the FASNY website and showcased in The Volunteer Firefighter™ magazine.

Video Contest
Students in grades five through eight are eligible to submit a video for the video contest. Entries will be judged based on how informative the video is and on compliance with contest rules. Winning videos will be selected for inclusion in upcoming fire prevention and life safety materials online as well as on the FASNY website.

Graphic Design Contest
Students in grades five through eight are eligible to submit a graphically designed flyer for the graphic design contest. Winners’ designs will be featured in upcoming fire prevention materials and highlighted on the FASNY website.
